S&P 500 Futures Rise In Premarket Trading

As U.S. stock markets open in two hours, Encompass Health Corp. EHC +10.83% (EHC) led the rise in pre-market trading with a 6.4% gain, and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce CM –1.14% (CM) led the decline with a 4.6% increase.

A number of stocks posted gains of at least 3% in early trading, such as Citizens Financial Group Inc. CFG –3.44% (CFG), Etsy Inc. ETSY +2.24% (ETSY), and Crane Holdings Co. CR +7.45% (CR). It is worth noting that early trading for AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. Cl A (AMC) and Karuna Therapeutics Inc. (KRTX) were both down by 26.6% and 3.1% respectively.

Aside from that, the futures for the S&P 500 index rose 0.27%, as did the futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which rose 0.13%. The Cboe Volatility Index futures were down 2.12%.

Bitcoin was up 2.63% at $28,291 at the time of writing, while Brent crude oil futures rose 0.74% while gold futures declined 0.18%.

According to the Treasury Department, the 10-year Treasury yield climbed to 3.470% on Friday.

Stocks in Asia also rose overnight, as Japan's Nikkei 225 Index rose by 0.35%, while China's Shanghai Composite Index rose by 0.49%. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.37% and 0.98%, respectively, during the previous regular trading session.

The STOXX Europe 600 Index has increased 0.63% since the previous close, and the FTSE 100 Index has risen 0.05% since Wednesday's close. Stocks in Europe are up today, with the STOXX Europe 600 Index climbing 0.63%.
